Software Center Download Very Slow

In the past couple of days my own work computer that i use daily has started to pick up changes in software center extremely slow.

Software center download very slow. It only runs sccm and it s hosting the database locally. Force a software center sc refresh. Active 2 years 2 months ago.

With the ubuntu software center i can only install and download one application for a time. I want to install some applications from the ubuntu software center but the installation process is quite long and slow. By the time my computer gets the changes i would have had time to install and uninstall.

8 gigs in 7 hours is unacceptably slow. Software updates install very slowly i deployed software updates to a pilot group of machines. It doesn t even work sometimes.

I have installed ubuntu 11 04 desktop and i am in the process of learning. 43 updates were available when i checked my test pc mostly ms office. It s just waaaaay too slow.

Sorry to have posted so much about software center lately but i figured i would do one final post and let you guys know that i was able to fix the slow software center by changing my database compatibility to 110 as described in this article. There is a problem showing the current status. I just installed ubuntu 16 04.
